Stay: DH Day Campground
This beautifully wooded campground is one of the most popular in northern Michigan, with easy access to the Dune Climb, the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, and the museums in the historic village of Glen Haven and is located only 2 miles from the restaurants and shops of downtown Glen Arbor. If you’re looking for a slightly more rugged camping experience, then D.H. Day is probably for you. Choose one of 81 private sites, all within a short walking distance of a beautiful Lake Michigan beach. D. H. Day provides an excellent setting for a relaxing family vacation.
DH Day Trail to Lake Michigan
Trails:
Walkable from your campsite, Alligator Hill provides two gorgeous views of Lake Michigan and Glen Lake. 8 miles of total trails with 3 loops. Each loop sis 3-4.6 miles long.
Our favorite. 1.2 miles round trip from the trailhead to the overlook. You will climb a steep hill through Beech-Maple forest to the most magnificent bluff that overlooks Lake Michigan and the Manitou Islands. A word of caution: DO NOT descend the bluff to Lake Michigan. Climbing back up is nearly impossible and the Coast Guard will charge a hefty fee to bring you back up.

Eat:
As described by the owners: We're a never-trendy, tourist-friendly, palate teasing, village cheese shop located in the heart of Fishtown, Leland. We’ve been nourishing Leelanau County with better-than-ever fresh, made-to-order sandwiches, local products, and 60+ imported cheeses, for over 45 years. WHEW!!
Get there early. Order the pretzel bread. Pick it up and head to the beach. You're welcome.
So, so good. Farm Club is the ultimate foodie destination. They take "farm to table" to a whole other level.
